Day 14 of 100 details in 100 days is a simple way to use ribbon and beads on a block. As you can see a ribbon was first fixed to the block and then a bead trail was added to give the area more zest. This is the project the detail comes from. It is a pin board frame which I made for Eve after her last trip to Europe. She was away for over a year so all seasons represented. This detail comes from the area which represents winter.
My scout about the net this morning has found that Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has also been posting projects with more tutorials on using ribbon. She is also a brave lady exposing the back of her work. Marty of Textiles in Time has also been playing with ribbon.
Charlene of When This You See, Remember Me has posted more of her embroidered details on her crazy quilt block. Connie of The Scoop, Score and Deal has invested in some DMC pearl thread and is thoroughly enjoying herself with it.
Ribbonwiz of Camille’s Place has posted details of her lace motif embellished with beads and ribbon. Yesterday she posted a completed block. Of course our wonder stitcher Allison Aller has added another detail to her blog. I don’t know how she does it each day!
I received an email this morning which has prompted me to remind people of the diagrams of crazy quilt seam embellishments I have on my site. They have been online for quite awhile now but some people may not be aware of them.
For anyone just swinging by this series of posts are listed under 100 details for 100 days in this blog. Over on Flickr it is associated with the Crazyquilting Group and photos are tagged 100detailsin100days
