100 details for 100 days Day 30

This morning I thought I would highlight a delightful version of buttonhole stitch. It is called Up and down Buttonhole which in this case I have worked in a feather stitch formation and tucked a seven or eight wrap Bullion stitch between the two prongs.

This sample is worked in silk but the stitch is equally effective worked in DMC Pearl 5 or for a finer line use pearl 8. The interesting thing about this stitch is how the small bar at the base is worked. It is an extremely easy stitch to work once you get the hang of it, and can be used in all sorts of situations.

Today I discovered that Debra of Design Studio and has featured a lovely cast on rose. Roses are a bit of a theme as Julia of Camille’s Place has also featured a stem stitch rose. Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has featured a string of bullion roses, one of the details in her work.

Lin of Purple Fan is new to the challenge, new to blogging, and has new interpretations of the details published. Marty of Textiles in Time has also added some more seam embellishments to her latest block

Susan of Plays with needles has three more seam embellishments on her block. Hideko Ishida has finished another block whereas Allison Aller has been exploring Palistrina stitch and unpicking areas that did not sit right on her block.

Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has published a charted design of Autumn Leaves.

Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has a detail of a small lace fan.

Linda of Chloe’s Place has moved to highlighting sewing boxes and has featured a very unusual box today. I have not seen one like it.

For anyone just swinging by this series of posts are listed under 100 details for 100 days in this blog. Over on Flickr it is associated with the Crazyquilting Group and photos are tagged 100detailsin100days
