These are two simple seam embellishments with a spider in the center. As I am sure most crazy quilters know spiders on crazy quilts represent good luck. This is simply a charm. The web is worked in a metalic thread.
The seam treatment towards the top of the detail is feather stitch topped with seed beads. This is worked in a rayon thread. I thought I would feature it as I was asked if I ever work in rayon. I guess the short answer is that I do as I like to have variety in a block.
Running diagonally along the bottom of the detail is a row of half buttonhole wheels worked on DMC pearl 8
Jo of No Matter Where I Go I Always Meet Myself There has published a handy hint on how to make perfect buttonhole wheels. Jo has card pinned to a seam – a tip from me is that you can do this with quilters tape too.
Susan of Crazy Quilting for fun has just started working some of the details. Pop over take a look at her work and wish her luck.
Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has featured a tiny ‘swap bag’ that she has on a block. It is the size of a charm do check it out
Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has published another detail from her ribbons and roses block.
Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs another delightful free pattern discovered at a flea market
Rissa of Rissas Pieces is talking about pierced eyelets
