As I announced a couple of weeks ago I have joined the staff of CQ MagOnline and it was an interesting experience being involved with this latest issue.
I am just going to highlight a few of the articles in the issue as it is well and truly packed with goodies. Lynn Schoeffler has highlighted some of the crazy quilt blocks that were donated to the Escondido History Centre and a definite gem in this issue is an article on African Folklore Embroidery by Leora Raikin
There are two articles on using dyes. One on hand painting lace by Sandie Willmott and the other by Shay Toner on using Ozecraft dyes. Allison Aller has provided the magazine with instructions on her stained glass technique which marries well with crazy quilting.
This issue also contains instructions on how to make a beaded Neckpiece by Julia Camilleri of Camille’s Place . This left me drooling on the keyboard and making a mental note that I must do more with beads on my crazy quilt blocks. I am sure you will react the same way.
If like me you are looking around for gift ideas with the holiday season fast approaching there are directions on how to make a Simple and Quick Tote Bag by Barbara Blankenship. Bags always make good gifts and the Evening Bag Gwen Frazier would make not only a great wedding purse but also with a change of colour and if you made these small enough they would make great sweet/gift bags for the tree.
As I said these are only a few of the articles in this issue, there are heaps more to red and enjoy so grab a cuppa and pop over to CQ MagOnline and see what is new, it’s a darned good free read online.
Hi Maureen Halloween is not really celebrated in OZ
Hi Sharon
Looking forward to the start of class tomorrow.
However, I am wondering about something. Do you celebrate Halloween in Australia?
If so, how.
