French illuminated manuscripts

The collection of French illuminated manuscripts is a database of breathtaking texts dating from the year 500 through the 1400s. The site is divided into themes. Though the high-resolution images take a bit of time to load they are gorgeous. I particularly liked Working Plant Fibers to Make Cloth (hemp or linen) discovered in the Work and Daily life section.
