Through the week Sarah of Embroidery and Sewing at Knitting.com dropped me a line to draw attention to the out of copyright vintage hand embroidery patterns she has available on her site.
Included in the downloads is a booklet from 1940 “Embroidery Stitches: Anchor Needlework Series Book 4” which contains some ideas for using basic stitches in a 1940’s reinterpretation of folk motifs. For crazy quilters there are pages of things like butterflies, dragonflies, ducks, bunnies and floral motifs galore. It’s worth browsing to see what can be used.
Sharon, good link, some lovely patterns here for reference. Thanks 🙂 Mary
Thanks for the link, Sharon. She has some interesting old patterns there.

you should have recieved an email from joggles.com with details about how to log in and get the lesson -I hope it did not get sidelined by your spam filter or something
I am in Australia and we are ahead of the US – (where Joggles is and where the class is run from ) hence the time difference
I have forwarded this to Barbara at joggles just incase there is a glitch –
