For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 129

For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 129

This band of stitching is created by working a line of herringbone stitch which has been tied with a variety of fly stitch. Instead of having a single stitch tie the “V” shape a detached chain stitch has tied the fly.

Thread:

Perle thread #8 and a hand dyed perle

Fabric:

This section of my sampler is worked on cream  dress linen

Dyes:

Procion cold water dyes for thread

Size:

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

Date:

I started this section of the sampler in 2004 and completed it early  2005.

  1. Ruth I have seen your name come up in my comments so often that I am delighted to hear you will be in the Personal Library of Stitches class. I think you will enjoy it as I have a hunch it will suit you very much

All my courses are written so people can work at their own pace as people all have different demands on their time. In fact I think I am known for this now as Barb tells me as many buy the course and never even login to the forum. I offer a lot in my courses and understand if people need to either spread it out over a longer period and I have had emails from students saying they are sill learning stuff from the notes a year on! I encourage people to at least login however and have a look at what is going on in the forum but I understand if for some reason they cannot.
It is up to you but I would say you will get plenty from the notes and if you could login to forums occasionally over those 6 weeks it would be great.

  3. Your sampler roll has really inspired me! I’m considering your Library of Stitches course, but it’s a very busy time of year for me, and I’m leaving town for a week on October 7… Is it the kind of thing that I can pay for now and work at my own pace? Or do I really miss a lot if I’m not able to work along with the class? (Appologies if this has been addressed elsewhere!)
