Dan of Empty Easel has produced an excellent video about using 5 Simple Design Elements to improve an image. He aims his advice to painters, but any fiber artist, art quilter or embroidery designer will find that applying these design elements to their work will make their work stronger. So make a cuppa, take 10 minutes and watch the video.
thanks for the link — it is a very useful piece. Think I knew everything he talked about but it is always good to revisit the basics.
Great video. I even took notes and everything!
My Portugese border stitch is on the flickr site. Hopefully will have time for more.
Great video Sharon. Thanks for sharing. I am aware of the elements/principles of design, but often fall down in the application of such. This was very helpful. Simple, simple, simple!
Excellent explanation of these design principals. Simple, to the point and east to incorporate in any textile work. Have bookmarked it for future reference. Many thanks for the link. Sue McB
