This small motif is created using two buttonhole stitches and stem stitch. The motif is small about 3 cm or an inch and a bit high.

The sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and all sections are stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

This section of the sampler was worked during 2007.

This is wonderful! I’m needing to do liliy-of-the-valley in silk ribbon, and I believe that turned upside down and re-arranged a bit, this will do it. Thanks! I hadn’t thought of using the little fly stitches.
