Introducing block 51 on the “I dropped the button box” quilt

crazy quilt block 51

Block 51 is a favourite. Not so much that the block is any great shakes but I really like the fabric in the bottom left hand corner. Also there is a button that is from a soldiers uniform. It is a bit battered about and I often wonder why.

Over the next few weeks I will focus on each seam and embellishment and I hope readers who are crazy quilters  will enjoy the series.

As regular readers will know this crazy quilt made up of 2001 different elements because it was created as an Y2K project. By element I mean, the quilt contains 2001 unique pieces of fabric, lace, braids, charms, buttons or ribbons used in it. All elements are different. It was a way of using a sample of all the bits I had been hoarding! So on the quilt you will not find a repeat of the same item. 1. Bonsoir !
