This rope is 2000 years old

This is an amazing discovery as this rope is 2,000 years old. Usually anything made of fibre is long degraded away at this age which is of course why so many textiles disappear too.

This was found in the remains of a Roman ship which has been unearthed by Italian archaeologists near the ancient port of Rome.
