The detail below is an area on my Love of Stitching Band Sampler. It is part of section 46 which is a free form embroidery with an Australian theme. You can read more about it in the article where I introduced section 46 or click on the sampler for a larger view and to be taken to the article
Stitches Used:
Chain stitch, French knots, buttonhole wheels, bullion knots, a workmans shirt button and beads
Threads:
- perle thread #3, #5, and #8.
- stranded cotton floss
- cotton chenille,
- cotton crochet thread,
- coton a broder,
- hand dyed wool which is about the same weight as Appletons,
- hand dyed Danish cotton which feels and works up in a similar way to coton a broder and has little sheen
- hand dyed silk,
- Caron watercolours 1 strand of #5 perle cotton
Fabric:
Patched cotton fabrics.

This section of the sampler was worked in late 2009.

This area is a section in my Love of Stitching Band Sampler which is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and currently measures 96 feet 5 inches (2,938.78 centimetres), or 32.138 yards which is 29.3878 meters. It is still growing…
