Take a Stitch Tuesday 2018 Stitch 40

sample of woven detached chain stitch

First up, before I announce the stitch of the week, a little housekeeping: We will take a break next week for a catch-up week. The holiday season is around the corner and I have found that if people are a little behind now, they are really behind in a few weeks time! So next week will be a break/catch up week.

And so to the stitch: TAST Stitch 40 is an easy way to add a leaf shape to your embroidery. It is highly textured and people usually comment on it. This stitch is called Woven Detached Chain stitch and I often add it to floral sprays instead of a regular detached chain (lazy daisy). Take a look at the tutorial for Woven Detached Chain stitch as I am sure you will see why I think it’s fun.
