Work in Progress Wednesday

Apart from the release of the Module 7 worksheets (see my previous post) there is not a lot to report from me for Work in Progress Wednesday. However there were a good few useful comments left last week after I wrote out my Tips for managing large projects. You might want to make a cup and browse them.

CQJP June block start

Also I do have my June block made for the Crazy Quilt Journal Project. It looks a bit too blue as I wanted a more grey and wintery feel but I will work with what I have. So it is out with beads and threads and  hopefully I will have it embroidered by next week as the end of the month is fast approaching. It is only an 8 inch block but still that is a bit of an optimistic goal but wish me luck!

Work in Progress Wednesday

Crazy Quilt journal project April 2012 crazy quilt block News this week is that I now have a Work in Progress Wednesdays FAQ in the top tabs. This page not only explains how it will work, it holds the FAQ and most importantly each week will have a  links to the latest post.

This year I am participating in the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2012 but fell behind. I shared this block last week as it was half stitched. This is my block for April with it’s summer past and Autumnal mood that to me is April in Australia. I added a charm of  2 musical instruments a mandolin and violin as Jerry (my husband) plays violin and Eve (my daughter) plays mandolin and in April we had the National Folk Festival. Since both are performers the charm was appropriate.

I have done my block for May. Now to start on June!

Work in Progress Wednesday CQ journal block for May

Work in Progress Wednesdays seem to arrive very quickly this year! As I have mentioned before this year I am participating in the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2012 but it seems to keep me running.

Here is my block for May. A quieter Month here as the weather is getting colder. Hopefully the colours hint at a chill developing in the air.  I am working to develop another set of stitchers worksheets (module 7) ,  so some of the stitches on the block are samples that will appear in the eye candy section.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this block. If you click on the image you can see a larger version and if you are in the mood for a little past eye candy all my blocks I have made for the Crazy Quilt Journal Project can be found under that category

I still have a block to complete for last month. It has been started but that is about it. Cross your fingers that I can share a finish with you next week.

Toddles away and thinks to self ….I really should be more regular with Work in Progress reports on Wednesdays as doing them pushes me to get stuff done!

Work In Progress Wednesday: CQ Journal Block 3

CQ journal project block March
I managed to complete my March block for the Crazy Quilt Journal Project 2012 late but it is done.

As many readers know I live in Australia and the leaves are starting to turn and I need to get out the rake. This block is in the rich colours of Autumn as Canberra has some wonderful non-native trees that turn many shades at this time of the year.

Also on the block is a little shamrock to mark St Patricks Day as Jerry was playing for the local Irish Dancers in a local “Irish” pub this year. He plays this Gig every year as its a bit of tradition and its always fun.
