This band of stitching is made up of two rows of Creten stitch which has been laced with a textured knitting wool which I dyed. I then added novelty flower shaped beads in a line down the middle.
The Creten stitch is worked in hand dyed perle #8 thread
Linda, 27cnt evenweave fabric produced by Zweigart
Procion dyes for the the cotton and wool thread
The sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and all the sections are stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and I have another 12 sections to add. Since I constantly have it to hand picking the latest section up when in the mood it will get longer. I will stop when I get bored with playing with it!
This section of the sampler was worked in November 2007.
The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.
