Back to Basics useful tips and techniques

I have just discovered this article which summarises how to transfer designs on to fabric, use an embroidery hoop, stretch and lace an embroidery frame and when the project is completed how to lace over card in order to present a piece. Back to Basics useful tips and techniques provided by the UK based magazine Stitch with the Embroiderer’s Guild

  1. Thank you for your lovely comments, Tannia. Since WH Smith have reduced the number of stores stocking ‘niche market’ magazines, you won’t find Stitch in so many stores. Many newsagents
will place a regular order for you, or you can buy by subscription (there’s no extra charge for P&P in the UK) and make sure you never miss an issue.

I’m delighted to hear that you enjoy Stitch so much. If it’s any consolation, my ‘to do’ pile just keeps on growing!

  2. “Stitch with the Embroiderers’ Guild” is a sensational magazine (I buy it when I can find it in the Newsagents – as they don’t seem to have each issue). I spent a lovely afternoon browsing the pages of the Stitch website 🙂 Thanks for the direction and the resulting growth in my ‘to do’ pile!!!
