Marty Trahan winning CQ block The winning crazy quilt block for the All that Jazz Katrina Survivor Quilt is Marty Trahan! Voting was extremely close at times as I am sure you will agree there were so many good entries. I am still surprised at the high standard and delighted as this means that both quilts will be sought after and raise good dollars hopefully. I would like to thank everyone who participated for without people doing so projects like this would not be able to be realised.

What is happening now? Anyone who has been watching the Gallery for this project, will know I am still waiting for 3 of the invitee blocks which I am told are in the mail. I am sure I will have them in my hands soon.

As soon as the holiday break is over Annie Whitsed and a team of quilt assemblers from Canberra Crazy Quilters will swing into acton and assemble the All that Jazz quilt and from the competitors blocks smaller quilts and wallhangings. In other words all blocks are going to be made up into quilts that can be sold to raise money. These will then go to Willa who is acting as our seller on Ebay to be auctioned off with funds going to aid rebuilding after Katrina

  1. Roast lamb on Christmas Eve? Even with all those veggie dishes… can I become a member of this family??

I give you credit. I’d be cooking out on my grill in that heat.. or not cooking at all.

  2. Congratulations Marty! Your square had a lot of thought put into it and being a beader myself, I appreciate the time and efforts that went into the beading in the piece! Kudos to you! What a great way to start off the holiday weekend.

I do hope the quilts bring in lots of money for the Katrina victims… they are still in dire straights.

    Thanks again… so very much!
