Last night I had visitors. Some of the Canberra crazy quilters who are organizing the National Crazy Quilters retreat to be held here in Canberra in October. We had a constructive and productive meeting and I will be chatting about this event as things develop. Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World who is also on the committee for this event trundled through the door with the other fundraising quilts for the Katrina relief. They are almost done and simply lovely and she has put as much effort into the assembly of these as she did the main quilt. We spent a pleasant hour or so on our hands and knees looking at the blocks. Both quilts really look wonderful.
Funds to aid those whose life was changed by Huricane Katrina are still needed. Thanks goes out to Leonie, who sent me this news item in an email. So our efforts and auctioning these quilts off will still bring much needed funds. For anyone who did not follow the story of these quilts the gallery of this project has details and images of the blocks online. My ‘to do’ list is quite hefty at the moment but as soon as the quilts are finished and before they are sold I will photograph the quilts and images will go in the gallery.
