100 details for 100 days Day 26

Day 26
I received an email asking if there was an easy way to print out the details. If you go to the category in other words 100 details for 100 days in this blog all posts marked that will run one after each other. Simply print them and file them.

Todays detail is another which is worked in Silk ribbon Embroidery. This form of embroidery is very easy to work and looks spectacular.

Most of the stitches in this detail are regular embroidery stitches. The roses are made using Woven Spiders Wheel. It is done the same only worked in 7 mm silk ribbon. The trick with using ribbon is to keep the ribbon loose as you work.

The leaves are worked finer ribbon in detached chain stitch and there is a sprinkling of French knots worked in rayon ribbon to pull the motif together.

For those who are a bit fearful of this type of embroidery or if it is simply not to your taste there is a simple seam embellishment which consists of a row of Fly Stitches worked in a silk thread the same weight as DMC Pearl 8. This is topped off with a detached chain but you could use a French knots seed beads or a novelty beads here.

OK settle back with a cuppa as here goes the weekly round up of people who have posted details of their work or have been participating in some way this week.
