100 details for 100 days Day 28

Day 28
Today is quite a simple treatment as it just involves picking out the pattern on a piece of lace and emphasising it with a line of seed beads.

The same idea can be applied to any patterned design on a fabric or a motif on print. Floral prints and the like work well as you can pick out the flowers. Butterflies and insects look great too. You can also pick out patterns on ribbons and in some cases braids too.

This is the 6 inch block detail comes from.

Susan of Plays with needles has a wonderful interpretation of the wisteria on her blog and has fallen in love with caston stitch.

Connie of The Scoop, Score and Deal has another detail stitched on her CQ wedding project.

Marty of Textiles in Time has finished the seam embellishment stage on her block.

Barbara of Thinking Out Loud has completed the embellishments on her fan block

After some frustration Allison Aller used yesterdays detail as a jumping off place.

Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has moved on to posting a spider web and a brief tutorial on how stitch them. Julia (aka Ribbonwiz) Camille’s Place has also posted a detail of a spider’s web

Rebecca of Hobbies and the Military has posted some of her favourite seam details.

Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has a charted design for grapes yes, another added to my pile of printouts she has so generously published.

Finally, with all this stitching going on Rissa of Rissas Pieces has some useful advice on what needle to use with what thread.

For anyone just swinging by this series of posts are listed under 100 details for 100 days in this blog. Over on Flickr it is associated with the Crazyquilting Group and photos are tagged 100detailsin100days
