100 details for 100 days Day 32

Day 32
So many people enjoyed cast on stitch that today I thought I would highlight its use again. In this detail I first worked a variety of alternating barred chain then in a fine wool thread worked caston stitch and stitched a seed bead in the middle.

The seed beads look out of place in the detail but the colour is rhymed elsewhere on the block which you can see here. The same might be said of the wool but on the block it looks right as the colours are quite muted.

I am away for a few days so this post has been preset to appear today. I will moderate any comments and attend to mail when I return on Tuesday. Until then enjoy the details.

For anyone just swinging by this series of posts are listed under 100 details for 100 days in this blog. Over on Flickr it is associated with the Crazyquilting Group and photos are tagged 100detailsin100days

  1. Wow! I have been watching the progess of your 100 details with growing admiration! You are an incredibly artist, and it is just a joy to wait for what your next post is going to be. Most of all, your stitch dictionary is such a fantastic resource – and a wonderful inspiration.
