100 details for 100 days Day 64

Day 64
This seam embellishment started off with a piece of lace that had a V like edge. I decided I was going to emphasise the V pattern and at the base of the lave worked two rows of straight stitches in a horizontal arrow stitch formation. These were worked in DMC 5 pearl thread.

At the top of the first row of arrow is a small detached chain stitch worked in DMC pearl 12 topped with a seed bead.

At the base of the V is a fly stitch which has a novelty disk like bead at the base. Below this is another fly stitch. Both fly stitches are worked in DMC pearl 5. On the bottom row of the arrow stitches I used a blue seed bead.

At the top of the lace using straight stitches I worked a diamond like formation in DMC pearl 5. Inside the diamonds I placed a bead and either side of the bead is two small straight stiches worked in DMC pearl 12. At the top of the diamond is a small flower shaped novelty bead.

Between the diamonds are 3 detached chain stitches and two straight stiches topped off with a seed bead. At the base of the V on the lace I added another seed bead.

  1. Susan I have collected laces for years – when ever I shop I look lace and buttons as they are the hardest to find. I have been in alot of swaps and I dye my own lace. Also people know I like lace and buttons and will use them so they send and give me stuff which is always nice

  2. Thanks for sharing all this stitches with us. I have made a heart and its on my blog where I also recommend your stitch dictionary. It is a heart for the swapping in Chains of heart group.

  3. You evil evil bad bad woman! I think i’ve entered the CQ Zone because of you! I haven’t started it yet, but the monstrosity can be seen in my current entry, and no doubt, due to you, will be a tour de force for me–or a coup de grace…..sigh
