Free embroidery designs from the V&A

 

The Victorian and Albert Museum has published some Designs & Illustrations by Florence Caulfield. These patterns are released free to embroiderers to print out, transfer to cloth and use. If you click on any of the images you can view a larger version. 

I must admit my connection has been running hot, as all these designs are really very attractive and could be easily adapted to contemporary embroidery. For instance, I can see these sitting very well on natural linen tones worked in white thread. Another adaption would be for use in crazy quilting.  The list goes on as the ideas are flowing …
