For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 323

Stitches

This is ‘band’ is the first seam on section 25 of my band sampler. The foundation row of this line of stitching is herringbone which I then laced. Tucked into the ‘V’ shape are 3 detached chain stitches. I stitched a bead at the base of each cluster.

Thread:

THe foundation row is perle 5 laced with a hand dyed knitting ribbon. The chain stitches are hand dyed cotton perle 8 thread

Dyes:

The cotton perle was dyed with procion dyes and the knitting ribbon was dyed with transfer dyes because it is synthetic.

Size:

The sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and all sections are stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

Date:

This section of the sampler was worked during 2007.
