Introducing Section 28 on the For Love of Stitching Band Sampler

I hope people are still enjoying this series. When I started writing about each band I realised it would take some time to work through, but the reality of the process is a bit daunting at times. On the whole I have enjoyed documenting each band and it has reinvigorated my interest in stitches. One off shoot of this interest is that I have stitched more since I have started to document this sampler. So,  generally the process of photographing and writing about each band is a positive experience for me. I hope readers still find the changing moods of this sampler interesting.

Some of my Sumptuous Surfaces students may recognise parts of section 28. In this series I do not be discuss or cover aspects of design as often design is what I teach in my classes. Some of the bands in this section of the sampler are used to illustrate points I wanted to make in my class. These bands taken out of context do not give away the contents of the classes.

The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.
