I have a bit of a work in progress report. I have not pieced my hussif (as getting out he sewing machine at the moment is a bit difficult) but stitch addict that I am, I could not live without having something on the go. I did pull out 25 count light walnut coloured linen and then I thought about the seaside. Next I remembered the flotsam on the seashore and before I knew it I had this design worked out.
I have started the heavily textured stitches in the area near the flip flops. This type of stitchery will run diagonally under them and diagonally under the shells too. Other areas will have pulled thread embroidery. I have yet to decide what I am doing with the border. It will be a small wall panel or I will simply add it to my sampler I am not sure yet. I set the tape measure against it so readers have a sense of the scale. So almost by accident I have started an other project!
If you click on the panel you will see a larger version of it.
