Guess who is on the cover of Crazy Quilt Quarterly!

Cover of Crazy quilt quarterlyI have a little exciting news as I am thrilled to let my readers know that one of my crazy quilt blocks is the cover image for the latest Crazy Quilt Quarterly. The magazine also contains an interview with me, where I describe how I discovered and started crazy quilting.

The issue is devoted to buttons and how they are used on contemporary Crazy quilts. As most readers know after making the “I Dropped the Button Box Quilt” I have a thing for buttons. So if you are wanting to gather a few ideas together on how to use buttons in your crazy quilting projects this issue will be of interest to you.

A highlight of this issue, for me, is an article about Gerry Krueger’s work. Gerry hand paints the most delightful miniatures on mother of pearl buttons. I am lucky to have a couple of her buttons but I must admit they are in ’too nice to use’ box. Gerry Krueger’s hand painted buttons are like little bits of eye candy that bring me pleasure so I was interested to see her set up and read her story.

There is information from Tracy Wilson on how to make your own Rhinestone studded buttons, Genevieve Tracey shares here button cluster technique, ideas for seam treatments and buttons from Pam Kellog, Brenda Sandusky writes about the fun of collecting buttons and the fun of collecting ideas about how to use them! Karen South shares her favourite round robbin swap ( I can see why it’s a favourite) There are oodles of more ideas about using buttons in crazy quilting.

The Crazy Quilt Quarterly Summer 2017 is a Magcloud publication and you can get it here. As a printed version which retails for 14.95 US and a digital version for $6.95.

I am not compensated for this review but I do have a professional relationship as I accept advertising for Crazy Quilt Quarterly in my side bar. In other words I get no kick back for this review.
