So, here is TAST Week 36! Welcome back from our break week. I hope everyone is energised for the final push towards the end of the year. This week I have chosen a relatively easy but versatile stitch to ease back into the TAST challenge. I hope everyone enjoys it!
TAST Week 36
Feathered Chain stitch or feathered long tail chain is a fun stitch. For those into crazy quilting, you can zig-zag it across a seam easily. This stitch looks good if you work it row upon row as you can build up a nice pattern to fill an area. You can easily add beads to it too! Take a look at the tutorial for Feathered Chain stitch and have fun with it
Beyond TAST week 36
A fun variety of detached chain stitch that is easy to work and wonderfully adaptable. It is called Long Tail Chain stitch but is actually a detached chain stitch (or Lazy Daisy) with a longer tie-off stitch. In my tutorial for Long Tail Chain stitch there are some techniques for you to explore, have fun with, and combine. As a stitch, it lends itself to beading and other techniques such as lacing and whipping to the spokes, are effective too. It is not too complicated and relatively quick to work and produces interesting results. I hope you have fun with it!
