Large collaborative community textile projects are always exciting to discover. I love to see the way people represent themselves in thread.
Sunbury Millennium embroidery is an great example of what can be done. The project was conceived by David Brown and designed by John Stamp. Stitched by 140 people the panels illustrate village life, culture and history. Viewing these panels on screen you have no sense of their size but when you do look at them remember that the central panel is 9 feet long and the 8 smaller side panels are 2 feet wide.
Julie I think it is you – as its working here and I have just checked the code – all seems OK
Hi Sharon, I tried to click on the hypertext to the Sunbury millennium embroidery but it didn’t go anywhere – is it just me and my computer?
