I have previously written about the work of Rachel Hobson who represented the surface of the moon using textured embroidery techniques.

The news is, Rachel has made it to round 2 in the NASA/Etsy Space Craft Contest. If her piece is voted into the top 20, it will get to the final judging round which means it may fly in space onboard one of the final space shuttle flights. Voting lasts through to the end of this week so pop over and vote for her.
