Today I would like to share another crazy quilt seam embellishment which is on block 71 of the I dropped the button box Quilt. As a little reminder this is what the block looks like. The thumbnail will take you to the block.
One of the trims added to this block is a hand dyed vintage ribbon which I secured with embroidery. Using rayon embroidery thread I worked 3 detached chain stitches arranged in a fan pattern and at the base of each I further decorated them with beads.
Detail 472
This seam was decorated with quarter buttonhole wheels worked in rayon ribbon floss. At the base I added a bead.
I hope these little details gives readers a few ideas of how to decorate seams on a crazy quilt. This is part of a regular series which illustrates the hand embroidered seams, embellishments and decorations on my crazy quilt I dropped the button box.
