I have this rather heavily textured detail of my band sampler to share with readers today.
Just to jog peoples memory this is section 48 of my band sampler. For the foundation fabric I patch worked together different pieces. They are all hand dyed and left overs from other projects.
Thread, Fabric and Stitches Used on detail 646:
The fabric is hand painted linen. This is tea towel linen that I had used for a project. There are numerous different threads in this area. I used Stranded cotton floss, perle cotton #5 , Perle cotton #8, hand dyed chainette, tubular knitting ribbon, hand dyed silk, and wool.
Stitches used are buttonhole rings, bullion knots, buttonhole cups, french knots, and oyster stitch. I also added a little zest with seed beads and bugal beads.
Here is a closer detail:
Date:
This section of the sampler was worked January 2010.
Size:
This area is a section in my Love of Stitching Band Sampler which is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and currently measures 96 feet 5 inches (2,938.78 centimetres), or 32.138 yards which is 29.3878 meters. It is still growing…and is all hand stitched

Love this part of your bandsampler. It reminds me how much I enjoyed stitching my pieces for your Sumptuous Surface class.
Yes I often just work an area like this for the fun of it.
