Stitches
This motif is another that looks better if it not scaled up so large! The wings are made up of part buttonhole wheel. The tufty body is Ghiordes Knot. In fact I had used this little section of the fabric as doodle to test this pattern when after a few years I rediscovered the stitch doodle and decided to make the rest into a sampler! So this little fellow is a stitch doodle

Faith you don’t need waste canvas just pack the knots tight and it should work (try a sample of scrap cloth first)
Oh, I love this little bee! If I want to stitch him on cotton, do I need to use waste canvas to make the stitch? (I’m thinking of putting it on a quilt.)
