Today I have two details to feature the first is a bullion rose spray. The other is a seam embellishment over rick rack.
The bullion rose spray is worked in wool. Here are directions on how to make a bullion rose from the everything sewing website. Classic stitches also has directions for a bullion rose.
The foliage is worked in wool using detached chain and sprinkled with clear seed beads.
The rick rack was couched down using zig zag chain worked in DMC 8 pearl cotton. On one side I placed a seed bead and on the other I worked three straight stitches topped with a seed bead.
A quick wiz around the blogs this morning tells me that Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has highlighted twisted chain stitch.
Julia (aka Ribbonwiz) Camille’s Place has highlighted herringbone on the Katrina block she worked.
Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has framed a cigarette silk with ribbon roses and embellished lace.
Check out Candida’s Photos as she has some lovely details published.
Debra of Design Studio has pulled out an unsatisfying seam and been shopping (do check out her haul I am green with envy)
Rissa of Rissas Pieces is now covering the use of embroidery hoops.
Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has a charted spray of forget-me-nots
Marty of Textiles in Time has published a tutorial on using tiger tape to keep your stitches even
For anyone just swinging by this series of posts are listed under 100 details for 100 days in this blog. Over on Flickr it is associated with the Crazyquilting Group and photos are tagged 100detailsin100days
