100 details for 100 days Day 44

Day44

This is actually a piece of cheap nylon lace which just sat right on the block so I used it. I did feel however it needed a little more personality so along one side of the lace I worked a row of quarter buttonhole wheels in a thread that is the same size as DMC pearl 5.

Below those is a grouping of three detached chain stitches worked in a silk thread the same weight as DMC pearl 8. Straight stitches in both DMC pearl and a fine metallic thread are then worked.

On the other side of the lace I worked Oyster stitch pointing in towards the lace. On each side of this is a straight stitch and pointing outwards are three more straight stitches. A seed bead was stitched in the middle of each of these.

  1. I love your site and haven’t posted much if at all, but I save a copy of your seam instructions every day and paste it in a little book so I can sit and practice them. I just don’t follow them daily, but love to use it for a guide and ideas. Awesome! thank you so much. You ought to publish a book when you’re through. I’ll bet a lot of us would love to have it in a spiral to follow!
