Stitches
This detail of the sampler on section 25 is a band of vintage lace. Along the edge I have worked a version of buttonhole stitch in a metallic DMC thread that is gold with a black twist of thread spun with it. It comes on a reel and named “antique gold”. It is marked Made in Belgium and would have to be one of my all time favourite metallic thread for hand work. I then topped the arms with a green seed bead.
On the other side of the lace I worked three detached chains stitches in a fan shape like a quarter daisy. In the middle at the base I stitched a bead.
Date:
This section of the sampler was worked during 2007.
