This hand embroidered seam detail on block 37 is a combination of oyster stitch and detached chain stitches
Why have I described this as hand embroidered? Because last week I got an email from a lady who asked me what sewing machine produced my stitches. I told her they were hand embroidered and her reaction was “I did not know anyone did that anymore” Needless to say I am going to use the term hand embroidered more often!
Thread:
perle cotton #8 for the oyster stitch and abroder cotton for the detached chain

Yes I thought I yelled loud and clear – and was to be honest a bit astounded.
Sounds like we all need to shout a bit more loudly about hand embroidery!
