This band is a further experiment with satin stitch and algerian eyelets worked as part of a contemporary Bargello or Florentine style pattern. I used hand dyed wool, cotton and silk to execute it.
Size:
The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.

Just beautiful Sharon. What’s the foundation cloth you’ve used for this piece? I’m off for a week to the hills for peace and quiet, and might well have to have a go at Bargello style embroidery whilst I’m there! Cheers, Carole.
Hi Carol It’s an even weave linen that is 27 count which you cant get anymore so now I use 26 count linen
