This week I would like share the start of another Crazy Quilt Journal Project block. I am running horribly behind in this challenge – like (clears throat in an embarrassed manner) this is the block for August! I try and tell myself that allows new hands to see that if they run behind on something it is OK to be human, but I don’t what to slip too far!
As you can see its pieced and I have a couple of stitches on it but that is it. This “having to report in” on Wednesday is why this weekly challenge is good for me and reading the comments left I see it helps others too.
In case your wondering about the frame I have the block on I am still using it and really like it. I wrote a review of the Grip-n-Stitch embroidery frame review here.

This week has been about trying to move forward with ideas more than completing anything! I am really thankful for the push to move forward with WIP and WISP because that is really me!
I finished another block for my champagne quilt. I don’t know yet how many blocks I will make.

I added some ribbon embroidery to my block. Thanks so much! Angela

very nice, thank you for sharing.
I am still working on Elizabeth from Gay Ann Rogers. You can see my progress here:

I like the colours and patterns in this block, looking forward to see what you’re going to do with it.
You’re right, this weekly challenge helps me a lot. I’m quilting at least an hour every week. This week’s progress is on my blog:

Nice colours, it’ll be a good block. One month/six weeks behind is not bad – I’m half the challenge behind with TAST!
Anyway, be that as it may, I’ve made a little progress on my WISPs and posted about it here:

I am behind on this challenge as well.
I have my blocks all done and assembled but my setting needs embellishing. I looked at it yesterday and decided I didn’t like it.
My head is not in the crazy quilt space at the moment and I have to do some other things before I can spend time on the CQJP 2012.
Ha ha! I don’t think that I can call myself a new hand but I am always behind, perhaps that is why most of my WIPs are WISPs.
I am nearing completion on my current project but it has taken far longer than I expect!

I love the colours on your August block and look forward to seeing it develop.
It looks so inspiring to see a ‘blank’ CQ block, and start thinking about how to embellish it. Have fun!
I have worked on one of my CQ block seams:

beautiful as usual!
