I have been running around like crazy as we are about to depart taking a trip of 2 months having a Trip of a Lifetime
Last week I mentioned I was finishing off a website. Now for the big reveal … I have been working on the web site for our local Embroiderers’ Guild. The ACT branch has some very talented people and they are sharing their work on a gallery and via a blog. Swing by and leave a comment as our local members would be very excited about that! Also look out on Friday for an interesting post Carmen is writing about the work of Japanese quilt artist Noriko Endo who she saw at Italia Invita. I have seen the picks and I am intrigued too!
During the time I am away I have prewritten this blog. As I travel I will share things I see that relate to textiles here, so there will be a few ‘on the road’ posts . All other travel related stuff will be on Tones and Tints which is my new visual arts and drawing blog. It is a personal blog and I am happy to go off topic there. Not many people are interested in other peoples travels I understand that, so I will keep it to Tones and Tints for those who want it. Both blogs you can subscribe to via links on the side bar.
While I away will not be writing my usual Work in Progress reports. However each week I will open a post as place for those who are working on largish projects to share what they have done. They can still be ‘accountable’.
If you have made progress on a large project leave a comment with a link to your site. If you include the http bit of your web address in the comment it will become a link and folks can visit and see what you have done.
If you want to know more about Work in Progress Wednesdays visit the FAQ. All my Work in Progress Wednesday reports are under that category
My first (of many) posts. Hope this helps me complete those UFO’s.http://carorose.typepad.com/my_weblog/2013/09/wipw.html
Have a great trip Sharon.

I’m late again – in spite of flying!

Have an awesome trip! It is very kind of you to keep doing the work in progress Wednesday. I really appreciate it as it really does help to keep me on track. You can see my meager progress here http://princessbubblescreates.blogspot.ca/
Your trip sounds fantastic, hope it lives up to – and exceeds – your expectations. Thanks for pre-writing blog entries, I would miss this blog.
I finally finished my July CQ journal project block, in August.

A friend shared some gorgeous ribbons, so a few will be the center of a CQ block. My guild quilt show is this month, after the deadlines I hope to get back to my champagne CQ.
That must have been a lot of work, it looks great!
Here’s my progress this week:

Well, I’ve nothing to report for this week, but I’m glad there will be posts happening for the next two months. As you said, there is some sense of accountability and, frankly, I’m getting sick of my long-term WIPs and want them OFF my to-do list!
Now I’m going to look at the new website…..
Hi Sharon,
I just wanted to wish you and Jerry well on your big trip… I am not at all envious – not much!!!! And I love your idea of sketching – my idea of heaven really… Are you going to take some stitching to do or will that be an excuse to buy a little something if you don’t 😉 Stay safe, travel lightly and just have the best time…
Sharon – Melbourne
