Section 50 of my band sampler is very long. In order to get a photo of it I had to take photos in 3 sections. It is made up of a foundation fabric that I patch worked together. If you click on the image you will see a larger version of the 3 photos
I think at the time I was on a campaign to clear out all the scraps and bits of even weave fabric I had. I pieced together 25 cnt linen, Aida, hardanger fabric, table cloth linen and tea towel linen. which have been hand dyed using procion dyes. Since they were scraps and left overs from other projects and I felt I was not wasting anything by experimenting on them as this are is me experimenting with stitches. I will share these in detail over the next few months
The section was started in Autumn 2010. Since I am Aussie that means it was March. TAST was running and many sample stitches can be found on it. There is little designed about this section it is simply freeform stitching over a period of 2 months.
If you are a new reader the For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is nearly 100 feet long – that is not a typo! The sampler is only 15 cm (6 inches) wide and consists of different strips of fabric which are stitched together to form one long strip. I have the backstory of how and why it was made, on the
Sampler FAQ page. You can read about each band or detail by browsing the Love of Stitching Category
