I just had to share this with my readers. Building Stamina and Seeking Grace: The Artist’s Journey was the keynote address to the Silk Painters International Festival given by Jane Dunnewold.
Jane speaks about creativity, dealing with the internal critic, the importance of developing your technique, and to slowing down in order to focus on what is best for your work. So settle down with a cuppa and a bit of stitching, as this talk is really worth taking some time out and listening to, I promise.
If you find the video of benefit help spread the word and click the like button on Jane Dunnewold’s You tube page here by doing so it helps her rankings too.

Thanks Marie I am enjoying the rest – well if you call writing a book on crazy quilting a rest!
Oh, that’s going to be a treat!!
Hi Sharon,

Hi Chitra – pleased you enjoyed it
Oh boy, did I ever need to hear this. I have admired Jane Dunnewold for a looooong time although I have never done any of the things she does – just wanted to. Now I know I have no more excuses. The committee has to go, the rebel can be indulged, the writer encouraged and best of all – yay, I am perfect after all, I also need a little work but that’s neither here nor there.
Thank you for posting this, Sharon. I think more people should listen and take note; what she says transcends making art to encompassing anything and everything any of us attempt.
Hi Chris yes the committee idea had me thinking too!
Wonderful! My mother & I are fans of Dunnewold’s, so I’m excited to check this out! Thx so much, Sharon for sharin’! 😉
She makes a lot of good points. I need to embrace my inner rebel some more!
Angela Yep the inner rebel bit sounded good to me too!
