I have found another collection of free hand embroidery patterns hosted by the Antique Pattern Library. These are real gems, so in the spirit of sharing I am providing some eye candy from the collection so you can see if it will suit you needs.
The Antique pattern library provide some great resources for hand embroiderers online and they are free if you like and use any of their publications I can only encourage you to donate to them as they are non profit.
This publication is listed as Dames, Magasin des Album Broderie. It is a 27 page collection of designs that span a year of the Magasin des Demoiselles’ embroidery patterns
I saw some great Alphabets for those who use them (I am ever so slightly addicted to collecting them to use on my sampler)
Also there are dozens of floral sprays and border designs that can be used on small items or on crazy quilting projects.
Some of the border patterns are made up of repeating units which would be very easy to use as a standalone design.
There are also single motifs that could be used to embroider the patches of a crazy quilt such as this jar and fan.
This little series caught my eye as this milk jug and sugar bowl on one page
With the tea cup and tea pot on the next page.
As you can see I cleaned these up a bit in photoshop as I think I might use them
The overview page for Dames, Magasin des Album Broderie is here and there is also is a link to the pdf download
If you have problems downloading remember the Antique Pattern Library are sticklers for you having the latest version of Adobe reader for security reasons. If when you try to open or download a pdf file you receive a message asking for a password you need to upgrade your version of acrobat reader as no passwords are required. You also may need to update your browser. If you have other troubles go to their FAQ page here and see if there is something else you need to do
Enjoy!

Thread Twisties!
Experimenting with different threads can be expensive. You would normally have to buy a whole skein of each type of thread. My thread twisties are a combination of different threads to use in creative hand embroidery. These enable you to try out stitching with something other than stranded cotton. For the price of just a few skeins, you can experiment with a bundle of threads of luscious colours and many different textures.
These are creative embroiders threads. With them, I hope to encourage you to experiment. Each Twistie is a thread bundle containing silk, cotton, rayon and wool. Threads range from extra fine (the same thickness as 1 strand of embroidery floss) to chunky couchable textured yarns. All threads have a soft and manageable drape. Twisting them around a needle makes experimental hand embroidery an interesting journey rather than a battle. Many are hand dyed by me. All are threads I use. You may find a similar thread twist but no two are identical.
You will find my thread twisties in the Pintangle shop here.
I add my thanks too Sharon, for your searching, tidying up and sharing the transfers. I love the jugs and cup and the designs they have.
I hope to try some of them soon.
My pleasure Maureen and everyone – hope you enjoy and use them!
Thanks Sharon????
Love these old vintage patterns can be used for anything, I will try to work them into my other art work, many kinds, fab arts, bags, runners, watercolor paintings, porch deco assemblies, and pencil/pastel/charcoal art work, there is no limit.
I really love these and have already thought of ways to incorporate them into my projects. Beautiful thank you. Download was easy.
On the pdf site, they require a password. Don’t know what they want there. Any ideas?
Jackie and anyone having troubles or getting the password protected message – as I say in the last paragraph you need to be up todate with that version of acrobat you have Go to their FAQ page – here is the link http://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/html/warm/faq.htm
