I have 2 bands on my needlework sampler to share with readers today.
Just to jog peoples memory this is section 48 of my band sampler which you can read about further if you follow the link
Regular readers will remember that I had patch worked together different foundation fabrics to use on this section of the sampler.
Thread, Fabric and Stitches Used on detail 647:
These two bands are half way the sampler worked on on a piece of hand dyed Aida cloth.
The top and bottom band are made using up and down buttonhole stitch worked in hand dyed #5 cotton perle. The seed beads have a ring of back stitches around them and the yellow cross stitches are worked in wool.
The middle band is worked in buttonhole using silk thread which I hand dyed. I use procion dyes for all my threads. In the middle is seed and bugle beads and cross stitches.
So both bands are made of simple stitches arranged in a pattern.
Below is closer detail:

What a treasure your Band Sampler is. How very good to see that even simple stitches can be made into beautiful patterns.
Thank you for sharing the sampler so often as it encourages me to try out on my own work.
Simply gorgeous stitching in such lovely choice of threads and colours.
Thanks, Sharon, for the lovely close-ups! It’s fun for me to try and work out the stitches you used and how you combined them before I read your description. Wonderful combinations!
