For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 133

This band of stitching is created by working a line of  herringbone stitch and then at the base and the top of each section I filled the gap with needleweaving.

I have never seen this stitch in a book as I made it up but I am sure other people have thought to do this as well.

Thread:

Perle thread #5, and #8. The thread used to needleweave was hand dyed.

Fabric:

This section of my sampler is worked on cream dress linen which is not an even weave

Dyes:

Procion cold water dyes for the threads.

Size:

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

Date:

I started this section of the sampler in 2004 and completed it early  2005.
