This section is once again actually two bands. The first is a row of fly stitch, the second is whipped fly stitch.
Threads:
The first row of fly stitch is worked in a hand dyed mercerised cotton, the second is a soft hand dyed soft Danish cotton which feels and works up in a similar way to coton a broder, is matt with no sheen. Both threads are approximately the same thickness and weight as perle 8

This section of the sampler is worked on tea towel linen which is not quite an even weave.

Size:
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
