I have had another of my busy weeks but I have started to embroider the last part of my hussif . It is the cover of a needle case. Here it is on the hoop.

I finished a block for my group’s round robin

MerriKay asked us to use only purple and green
I finished an extra block for my own round robin. Since there were 8 in the group, much easier to do an extra block.

Sharon, you might not recognize it, but the leaf embroidery in the center of my lime green block was inspired by the design you shared in your newsletter
Marci I took a look at your block – I love the adaption of the design from my newsletter!
Your colors work well together Sharon.
I had a busy day today but managed to get a bit of work
done, http://crazyvictoriana.blogspot.com/ .
October is here!
It is looking good. You can see part of my Sept. CQ block at http://princessbubblescreates.blogspot.ca/2014/10/work-in-progress-wednesday.html
Sharon–I love that blue lace. My progress this week has mostly been thinking, but I also began piecing blocks for my next crazy. Will you explain the process between the time you piece your fabrics onto the foundation and you begin the embroidery? At what point do you sew that line that appears to mark the edge of the block? Do you then trim the block to size including a seam allowance? Do you add the edging zig-zag before or after you trim? And what size is your block seam allowance? Thank you for all your help.
Pat Oh dear me what a lot of questions! I think you needed my CQ course and they are a chapter of a book I am working on. To keep it brief I suggest you dive in and start embroidering and solve each as you work. There are no rules in crazy quilting so it is a case of creative adaption upon creative adaption. Ultimately the only way to learn is to start.
I mark the edge of the block when I piece it. I dont trim away the seam allowance until I assemble the item. Seam allowance is what ever you want it to be I use abut half an inch.
Your needle case cover is off to a beautiful start!
I made some slow progress on the border of my Winter/Christmas Wall Quilt this week, as well as progress on my cross-stitch.

Only baby steps this week.
