The Detail for day 40 is an example of feather stitch which has been whipped down the centre with a contrasting thread.

The ends have been further embellished with detached chain stitch and a seed bead.

When I settled down with my cuppa this morning to review the week and realised just how active everyone has been. There has been a real mix of eye candy all week.

Rissa of Rissas Pieces has been regularly publishing some really good solid advice and tips on embroidery.

Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has regularly offered charted designs and yesterday published a converted a vintage embroidery design of a Peacock. Today she has another that is taken from a World War 2 Fabric Postcard from Gina’s collection This is an interesting artefact in itself so do take a look at it.

Allison Aller has worked all week at her regular cracking pace producing some lovely interpretations of the seam embellishments.

Julia Camille’s Place has also been posting details of her work. Today Julia is highlighting embellishing a print.

Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew is also embellishing a print.

Barbara Cheeseman of Embroidery overlaps has been working her details on strips of fabric producing and interesting band sampler.

Rian of Rians pages has been steadily working on her block and featured it today.

Through the week Marty of Textiles in Time posted a interesting seam detail using braid and published a tutorial on using tiger tape to keep your stitches even

Also Lin of Purple Fan has used an unusual rick rack on her latest embellishment

Two newish blogs came on the scene this week too the first being from the delicate of Hideko Ishida . Written in both English and Japanese Wind From The East highlights her latest interpretations working in monotone and varying threads using DMC rayon, Japanese silk threads, sewing machine threads, TEMARI threads, and hemp threads to great effect.

Mary Burton Mary’s Witterings also joined the 100 details stitch along and has a new naked block ready to go.
