Have you enjoyed this? If so you may be interested in a tutorial I have written on how to work decorative crazy quilt seams. The tutorial is a comprehensive tutorial that I converted to a pdf file (a link to the download is in the article. When I converted it I realised how comprehensive it was. At 19 pages of information it is a resource worth investigating! No sign up or anything required its a free resource without strings.
Have you seen my book?
My book The Visual Guide to Crazy Quilting Design: Simple Stitches, Stunning Results shares practical methods about how to design and make a crazy quilt. I teach you how to balance colour, texture and pattern, in order direct the viewers eye around a crazy quilted project. I show you how to build decorative seam treatments in interesting and creative ways using a handful of stitches. My book is profusely illustrated as my aim is to be both practical and inspiring.
I’ve been offline for quite some time and had to comment on your pics! As always ur work is divine …. but I am floored by the clarity of the pics! The were good in the past but now ….. I feel like I can feel them if I touch the monitor! lol Thanks for all you do!

I really like this. I love the way you’ve made the embroidery complement the fabric not just have it as an excuse to do it’s own thing. I really like your taste.
I have been an observer of your work for sometime now and I must say this crazy quilt is so very beautiful. I am a quilting beginner and am fairly good at embroidery. I am itching to start a quilt like this…thanks so much for the inspirations
The hearts are an eye-catcher, gorgeous!
I love the roses in the hearts!
My whip isn’t so pretty–a first attempt at a crazy quilt something. My guild is working on pumpkins and it has taken me all spring to do the first panel!

Hello Sharon, I’ve been a lurker on your blog for some time. Your inspired and inspiring works have given me an interest in samplers – but as an observer only, their WOW factor is beyond my ability. The photos of antique European samplers at http://www.francetv.fr/culturebox/des-tresors-de-broderie-anciennes-a-la-bibliotheque-forney-136057 reminded me of your Love of Stitching band sampler Especially items 04/05 from 1897 – called ‘Remembrance of my Youth’ . Mmm – wish I could do that!
Val I have just taken a look at this link thanks so much for letting me know as I have just spent a lovely “coffee break” looking at the images. Google translate helps too!Wish I could get there before the exhibit was closed …
Wow, Sharon! This is ECXEPTIONALLY beautiful. I love the delicate embroidered hearts with the elegant seed beads.
On my ‘kafferepet’ quilt I am serving up some cup cakes:
