Work in Progress

Today I am off to the Craft and Quilt Fair with Annie so I thought I had better post some more work in progress. (That way I can justify a little reward at the fair)

I have two more diamond blocks done

Here is a detail from the first block. The spray of flowers is worked in cast-on stitch using hand dyed wool.

These buds are worked in the same wool.

This last detail from this block illustrates a row of flower shaped sequins which are stitched between the V shaped gaps of herringbone stitch that is holding down a strip of ribbon.

This is the other block I have completed.

It is made of chain stitch and straight stitch and some plastic beads which look better from a slight distance than close up like this but plastic beads keep a quilt lighter.

This next detail of the same block stated off with a row of threaded chain stitch

As usual you can click on the images to go to larger versions and click on the magnify glass icon to see closer details again.

Annie I plan to have a good day as the Canberra Quilters also have their annual exhibition at the same venue. They have details on their blog. Also we plan to meet up with Doreen of Creative Meanderings around lunch time.  So I am off to find my comfy shoes, dig out a shopping bag and perhaps evenput on some make up for a girls day out.

  1. these blocks look beautiful. have a fun day at the fair, with Annie and Doreen. Don’t fall off the fibre diet wagon too hard – have you had a weigh in to check your progress?
